Are you able to download new widgets to the S3 or are the one's that come stock with the phone and come with downloaded apps all that you can get?

You can download different widgets on the S3 I'm sure and yes you can download different apps.

Where can I find widgets? I looked in Google Play and Samsung Apps but neither have any specific widgets thing that I can find only some third-party apps that offer widgets.

You mean to find a specific widget? I/e clock, weather, calender, etc.? Not really sure about individual widgets.
I've heard of Beautiful widgets in the market that's good if you want different widgets.

There are many apps that have widgets, but since every widget is a piece of an app anyway, there will never (no time soon anyway) be a standalone widget that doesn't come as an app. ( some apps are just widgets though.)

Thanks guys, I found a few that I was looking for, helps if you just search "widget" not "widgets" if anyone else ever wanted to look for some.

By the way, the Beautiful Widgets...is one of my favorites, great lil app, worth the few $'s.

Almost every app it seems has a few associated widgets. Some things you download from the store are only widgets with no associated apps.
