Widgetsoid...

I stumbled upon this in my search for a good widget that actually works with gps and mobile network as a switch not just a shortcut(to use with launcher pro). Just thought I would share. Its very customizable and has an option for almost everything (clock, battery, switches, etc..), best part is it's free.

*If you do try it and use the data toggle make sure you go into the advance settings under the app(not widget) after you set up your widget. Set the data toggle mode to "APN toggle" and the modifier string to "ANPdroid"

Oh yeah, need to use Widgetsoid 2.x

I've been using it for a while, it's a good program and has lots of handy stuff in it, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Just found this widget the other day and was going to post it here and found this thread.
Widgetsoid is awesome! One hidden secret is...after or before you add the widget click on the icon in your apps as if it was an app and there you can set some global preferences.

Thanks! I could not figure this out. Now it works perfectly.

One bug I have found ...
- when I wake the phone from sleep (click the power button and swipe down on the lock) the phone 'rubberbands' to the home screen where my new widget resides. Is this by design or a bug? I would rather it did not do this.

Great find. Thanks. This app is awesome. I would have loved this on my Incredible before I rooted but this works great on my Droid 2.

That was one of my complaints to the developer he said there is a setting.
Click the app(not the widget) and go to "Advanced" settings, then unclick "Widget Focusable"

The gps doesn't turn on verizon gps though, is there ever a need to, and is there way to have it do that?

Whats "Verizon GPS?" As far as I know there is only one GPS chip in the phone, and verizon has nothing to do with GPS.

Do you mean Verizon location Services? I think the only thing that uses that is the VZW Navigator.

i too only recently found this great app

but i am having trouble with the Data Sync and Wifi (widgetsoid) switches, specifically when i turn off Wifi, the Data Sync no longer works

has anyone else used it successfully?

It worked fine up until the most recent update. For the last week the wifi and data switches have been tempremental.

i noticed that too. But I think it is on purpose. I found out what mine was doing is ... if I turned on my Wifi, it would over ride the 3G and shut 3G off. This is because Wifi is a much faster connection. I think the app just more accurately captures what the OS is doing than the other power apps. See if that is what your is doing.

No, mine seem to be operating independently. Sometimes I hit the WiFi toggle and it turns on the WiFi, other times it simply makes the icon go white and if I check the settings it is still set to off. The data will sometimes reverse the on and off appearance. It has worked fine for the last couple of days though, no idea why!

I am trying to change the background color of a widget. When i choose custome color, away from grey, no matter what hex# I put in it goes to a horrible red color.

Firstly, this app is awesome. :D

Now for my problem... I've tried many different settings but when tapping the Data button it takes me to the Mobile network settings instead of toggling Data on/off. What setting(s) do I need to change?

Also, I've created a custom 1x5 widget. For example, I named it "MasterBAR" in the actual Widgetsoid app, saved it... and when I try to add a widget... my custom "MasterBAR" isn't in the list of widgets? I'm probably missing something obvious... I'd appreciate any help.

Can I turn off the background service if I use only the power panel with few connections (wifi, bluetooth, gps, sync, 3g, screen brightness) ?

It's nice but way less options I'd say Widgetsoid2 is so great compared to all others for now.

I can't get the toggles to work on the notification bar. They either launch an overlay popup, or do nothing if popup is left unchecked. I've emailed the developer, so hopefully I'm just missing something.

I most definitely agree with the op. I've been using this app for a good 6 months now.
The thing I like most about it, is that the substantial amount of options and customizations, has:cool::cool: enabled me to eliminate a mountain of other individual apps. I pretty much use this, launcher pro plus, pure messenger and minimalistic text for all my homescreen editing.

I also had some issues with the data toggle widget, so I will definitely try those settings in the op. My original thought was that there was some sort of conflict with juice defender, so hopefully this will sort it out because the JD toggle icon is ugly. Lol

EDIT: just tried those settings and it said that they're not available for my device. Xperia arc

What's up everybody. I'm glad somebody started a thread about this, so I can just piggy back on the thread.

Not sure if everybody was aware, but I opened up Widgetsoid today (to edit some of my widgets) and there was a notification saying that the app was being re-written by the developer from scratch because there are certain parts of Android that won't translate for compatibility on the current Widgetsoid.

For that reason, the developer is looking for people that are willing to test out the "beta" version of the re-freshed app. It can currently be run at the same time as the app that is available through Google Play, but it will eventually be a completely new version available through Google Play.

Nontheless, if you'd like to help the developer test out the Beta version, he's already said that he'd be happy to get more people on board to test the Beta. I'm going to check it out now, but if you're interested, click on the "email developer" link through Google Play:
