Wierd Lock Screen Issue

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with this issue. I've had my S3 for over a year and I have the lock screen configured to use the pattern lock screen. Lately I noticed that the default lock screen (with Clock and lock at the bottom of the screen) appears and after swiping the lock, the pattern lock screen appears. Does anyone know how can I disable the default lock screen?? I am running android version 4.1.2.Thanks in advance.

Just to make sure I'm understanding right, to unlock your phone you're first having to deal with the default (swipe) lock screen, and then you have to put your swipe password in.

You want it to be as soon as you turn the phone on, are already on the swipe screen, and you simply swipe to unlock your phone? And it used to do it this way and recently changed to the other way?
 
Yes you are correct, once the phone locks and I try to unlock it I have to deal with the default lock screen then the pattern lock screen. Until about 2 weeks ago I only had to deal with the pattern lock screen.
 
Hmm. On most android OEM skins this is normal behavior, and I'm not that familiar with touchwiz, but I would have a look around in your settings, under either the lock screen or security dialog, to see if perhaps there is an option to show the default (show lock screen notifications or show lock screen) before showing the unlock option.

Hopefully if that doesn't work, someone with more experience with touchwiz can chime in and help you out!
 
Go to settings> lock screen> then uncheck with swipe lock. That will make it go straight to the pin lock.
 
While my phone was locked I accidentally hit the menu key and there was a settings button so I pressed it and was able to disabled the Lock Screen. Weird.
