Wifi and data usage--- help!!

I just got my new phone today and i don't have unlimited data usage. I'm not sure what uses data and what doesn't so i'm a little skeptical. If i turn on wifi on my phone and decide to download an app, will that use any data?

Nope. Wifi will supercede the cellular network and will not impact your data usage limit.

Download 3G watchdog. It will help in monitoring data usage. Not 100% accurate but it helps keep you on track.

In Android wifi will always overrride the mobile network. So you don't need to worry about that.

There's a nice app that will monitor your traffic, it's called "Traffic monitor", and you can put a widget in your home screen. I liked it better than Watchdog.
