wifi and gps always on?

I'm using the LTE international model.

Do you leave wifi and gps always on? Which chew up more battery?

I don't want to switch off all the good stuff otherwise this defeats the purpose of getting this smartphone.

4G drains battery faster than wifi, so a lot of the people keep wifi on where you have access to it. When you are out of the range, it automatically switches to 4G. With GPS, to be honest unless you are using apps that require your geographic location or you are constantly use it as in-car GPS, I would keep it off. If you get into a spot where GPS can't pick up a signal, it will drain your battery really fast. Personally, I have everything on until I get to work. In a building where I work, not a good GPS antenna reception, so I notice it constantly pinging which drains battery like hell.
 
I've noticed that leaving on & connecting to wifi actually extends the battery life.

Like twister6 said, gps can be a drainer at times.

If you're really concerned & want to get the most out of it, using NFC tags that are placed strategically can help.

Hmm... do you mean for instance having one in your car that turns on GPS (can you do that?) and one in your office/house that turns it off?

If for example you stick a TecTile tag on your car mount, then every time you place your phone in there you can trigger a pre-programmed script (you will have to program it yourself with a free app) to turn GPS and BT on. Then, you can have another tag at your home somewhere by the door or on the desk in a cradle where you park your phone to turn GPS/BT off and turn WiFi on. You can do similar at work to turn GPS/BT off. These are very practical scenarios. Planning to do it myself since I still got those 6 freebie TecTile tags from Sammy give away.

Officially living in the future. I was hoping for moonboots and Tricorders by the Year 2000. This sort of makes up for not having had them.
