Wifi app

I am wondering if there is an app that will block data usage for selected apps unless on wifi. Alot of apps now have the option of only using data on when connected to a wifi network, but not all of them. This would help out for overall data usage. If an app for this doesn't exist what would it take to develop, i would be willing to help with funding and actual development. the actual development help wouldn't be alot to start till i got a better handle on how to do it.

Personally I just have sync and data OFF unless I want to use them. That way I know what I'm using.

right, but i would prefer that i could set it up so that certain apps sync when they hit a wifi connection and certain apps are free to sync whenever, regardless the connection

You can do this with a firewall app like Droidwall, but you need to be rooted for that.

Onavo Count has the ability to restrict an app to Wifi only. It's partner app Onavo Extend actually uses a VPN to compress incoming data.
