Wifi "Authenticating, scanning, disconnected" loop

So, recently my android phone won't connect to wifi. I've rebooted the phone and reset the router multiple times, each time making it "forget" the connection after moving out of range.

The problem is that it simply won't connect to wifi. I have typed the password in correctly, this I know. So it's not a password problem.

What could be causing this?

Did you mean that when you typed the password in correctly, you typed the DEFAULT password that it has when you've reset it, & not the same password you've been using? Just checking....

If resetting a router, the default password is usually "password" (or something generic - see your manual). Log in with that, & go to 192.168.1.1 & change your password, ideally WPA / SPK encryption.

Then "forget" the network again on your phone, & try logging in with your new password.

When I recently first set up my new ICS Evo, I also typed and typed and typed what I knew was the correct password.

What finally worked was I typed the router KEY, case sensitive I think, and it accepted that. Why it asks for a password when that's not what it wants ...... grrrr.

I would think Tasker would be your best bet. I haven't used it much, but it's a very powerful app. You can download and sideload a 7 day trial from the developer's website if you don't want to pay the $6.50 before testing it out....
