WIFI Auto Reconnect

I have an A T & T S 3, i747, that automatically reconnects to wifi after I shut it off at night when I go to sleep. Is there any way to change the settings so it will stay off until I want it back on the next morning? This didn't happen until about a weeks or so ago when A T & T did an automatic software upgrade to the phone. It's frustrating and I'm tired of it waking me up in the middle of the night with email updates, etc. I have to leave the sound on so that I can receive emergency calls during the night.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Based on your e-mail app, you may be able to set it to "Night Time" or "Sleep" mode where it doesn't do notifications during a predetermined period of time. There are also apps like Setting Profiles, Tasker, Llama and many others that will allow you to set a profile that says at night, only the ringer is allowed to make any sound. With Setting Profiles, there is a free version that will only allow one profile at a time and a paid that will allow multiple. It works well and I never get anything but rings at night. I am currently working on the people at the plant to stop those too, but that is a whole different problem.
