wifi calling on HD2 with Android?

Hey everyone. I have the chance to get an HD2 pretty cheap and I'm looking for a phone for T-Mobile with wifi calling. I see that there is a mytouch 4g ROM for the HD2 and I was wondering if that includes Wifi calling? If so, how well does it work?

Wifi Calling is a feature T-Mobile is putting on most of it's new Android phones. If you are in a low coverage area (my apartment gets horrible T-Mobile signal, actually it gets horrible signal for any cell carrier) and you turn on wifi calling, your calls are routed to T-Mobile's network through your wifi connection rather than through their towers. I realize I could do some crazy workarounds using sip and some other tools but I would like the seamlessness of T-Mobile's wifi calling.

I believe that the tech is called UMA, and as far as I know, it's offered on very few phones.

However, that "crazy" work around works great. For example, I got a free sipgate telephone number, and used a combination of google voice callback and csipsimple to get wifi calling working without a problem. (The main trick seems to be the SIP client: I had a lot of trouble with sipdroid).

UMA is for Unlicensed Mobile Access, and it is built into most T-Mo BlackBerry phones as well as a Nokia or two. The difference between UMA and the Wifi Calling feature found on many of T-Mo's newer Android phones (MyTouch 4G, G2, etc) is that the Android phones don't have any hardware to hand off the call to the cell towers, so if you start a call on wifi calling and then leave the area of signal your call is dropped. With a UMA equipped phone the call is seamlessly transfered to the cell tower. Thanks for the advice on SIP. I've thought about it and I do realize it could accomplish what I'm looking for, but I'd love a built in solution first.
