Help WIFI calling on Unlocked Note8

WiFi calling is only provided and supported on carrier version phones in the US and Canada AFAIK.

I just switched to T-Mobile from Verizon and still not sure if the dead zones are worth the cost savings and other perks. But I thought you couldn't use the same phone bc they're different types of networks - not that it's locked but that physically the phone can do either CDMA or GSM networks. I'm curious about your experience because I may need to switch back.

To add to this post, my phone is unlocked from BHphoto (reputable large online retailer). I've tried all the tricks in this post and my phone doesn't have the capability (per bixby as someone else had posted). If I had known I would've gone carrier specific. I hope someone else learns from this post!

It would depend on the version you purchased from them - They sell a Universal one that does CDMA and GSM.

How is AT&T where you are?

For my home and work AT&T has better signal strength than T-Mobile or Verizon

I went with Cricket (AT&T) as they are a lot less that either T-Mobile or Verizon.
Less than AT&T too for that matter

BandH photo is a big reupatbale retailer fro sure. I buy camera gear from them.

That said tmobile does wifi calling. But its the phone is unlocked , you may not have the capability.

Tmobile is not the nest in rural areas. This is widely known , or by looking at their coverage map. If you have issues making basic callers and data in your area, you should switch back to big red or att...

Had an update today on my UK unlocked handset, the first thing I noticed was the option to set a video in lockscreen, then I noticed the VoLTE and Wifi calling symbols in the notification bar, so I'm happy with this months update, but it did weigh in at 831.74mb!

I have a carrier free Note8 purchased directly from Samsung and had wifi calling while with Verizon I switched to T-Mo recently and still have wifi calling. T-Mo was a cinch to set up but Verizon made me work for it. The setup was definitely buried within the phone's settings.
