Help Wifi capped at 3meg

When connecting to a network via wifi I seem to be capped at 3600ish kbps.

If I run a test on speedtest.net at home (via ethernet) I get 38meg. At work (again ethernet) I get 28meg.

If I use wifi on my desire at how or at work I get 3.7-3.8 meg.

As this is happening on both networks I cant see it being a network issue, is this an issue with the wifi chip on the desire, or is it a limitation of wifi in general? The router at home is a netgear n150, no idea what they use at work though.

It's probably a limitation of the hardware on the desire.

For comparison, I have a htc incredible which has a "n" capable wi-fi card and a "n" router with 35/35 internet speed, and the speed on my phone maxes out at about 10Mbps down and 8Mbps up. Where as on a pc, I get 42 down and 34 up.

hopefully something similar comes here, i'm currently on up to 40meg down and 10meg up, I get about 37/8 at the moment.

Bloody UK infastructure.....
