I have a phone with Android 2.3 (don't laugh), and it connects to every Wi-Fi network I have ever tried.
My Asus TF700 tablet with Android 4.1.1 connects to SOME, but not all Wi-Fi networks. When it does not connect, I get the message "Obtaining IP Address..." - forever.
For example: I have two networks at home. 2.3 connects to both, 4.1.1 only connects to one. I have checked all obvious possibilities, like encryption types and passwords - all correct. The interesting part is that the router which TF700 seemingly cannot connect to IS seeing the tablet and logging it as connected. It is the tablet that is not shaking hands with the router.
Same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 (v4.1.2). My friends' Kindles and iPads connect fine, which leads me to believe it may be a problem specific to Android 4.?
Any ideas most appreciated.
Thanks,
Ori.
