WiFi connection problems

Hi everyone, Last month i upgraded to a brand new Sony Experia T. I connected to my router with no problems, up until today its worked fantastic! I woke up today and it will not connect it just says "Authentication Problem".
I have not updated recently, i have turned my router on and off, i have turned my phone of and off, i have turned the phone WiFi on and off and forget my network and joined numerous times.
Still my phone will not connect. I'm not very techy so i don't know what its trying to tell me or how to fix the problem.
Any advice would be great im beginning to think i should have stayed with my iPhone.....eeeek!

Thanks

First off welcome to the forums :)

Have you tried pulling the battery on you device then rebooting it?

Otherwise do other devices connect to the router alright? Otherwise it could be related to the router.

Welcome :)
What that means is that the data from the wifi to your phone isn't true meaning the data isn't matching up between phone and router.

Can you tell us if you.
Have recently updated your phone.
Have you installed updates for the router.
Have you restarted phone.
Have you tried rebooting router. (30-30-30) reset.
If wifi through cable connection have you tried rebooting modem.

Welcome aboard... babybird.

I've seen this problem way too much. My guess is...the problem is the device not connecting to or with your router.

How do you fix this? You may asked.. contact your service provider and follow steps on how to do a full reset of the device.

Hopefully this should fix the problem. However, prior to doing so, unplugged the router for about two minutes or so.

Good luck.
Happy Holidays! :santaclaus:

Rush before doing factory reset I'd try doing router reset and or modem or trying to update router. If he does factory reset he will lose everything g on phone.
Try this
Unplug router for 30 secs.
While plugging router back in hold reset button down for 30 secs.
Light should blink saying its reset. Hold reset button for another 30secs.
This should allow to phone and router to communicate giving you wifi.

An 'authentication' error normally means that you have entered an incorrect WEP/Security Key for your router. I'd suggest double checking you have entered it correctly. Using both Uppercase & Lowercase if there are any.

Duh I forgot the password matching up part that would deff be a reason why it says that cause password don't match to router. Good call matt

Seems like the place to ask this, rather than starting a new thread. I sure hope someone can help!

I have Samsung Galaxy Player 5". One huge problem. It won't connect on the wifi at work. It shows excellent signal strength, but can't seem to connect. It just endlessly rotates through Connecting - Disconnecting - Scanning. It connects extremely quickly at any other wifi I've ever tried. My house, Barnes & Noble, the local auto mechanic's shop, grocery stores, etc etc. Often from the sidewalk or parking lot.

Also, everybody else at work with devices connect perfectly well. Including someone who also has Galaxy Player 5"!!! He bought it because he saw mine. You see, mine USED TO connect at work! Some odd days when it didn't, or didn't for the full day. But not for three days now.

I've tried:
-Turning it off and back on again.
-Turning Wi-Fi off.
-Having it forget work's wifi connection. (Which I can do by going to certain parts of the building where it doesn't reach.)
-Every possible combination of those three.

There is no security or password involved with work's wifi.

I've compared all the settings that seem relevant between mine and the other guy's. The only difference I could see was that my IP address was blank, and his had one. I put his into mine, in the "IP address" below "Use static IP", but it didn't work, and did not add it to the "IP address" field that's higher up the page, under MAC address. At home, IP address is filled.

Anything???? ROFL
