Wifi cuts 3g?

Hi all,

I am new to android and have just got a Samsung Galaxy s2.
I am wondering if the wifi connection (connected to home network for example) automatically over-rides my 3g (carrier for voice). I am trying to monitor my monthly data limit and want to be sure my internet and downloads are going through my network and not being paid for on my monthly phone contract. Any advice would be great...thanks...

Yes, once you get a solid connection to wifi, the phone automatically uses wifi and turns off the 3G radio. This saves battery as well as your data usage.
