Help Wifi drops when on bluetooth call, no simultaneous voice and data on 3G

Having the same problem I had with my Droid Incredible. After 10-15 minutes on a call while using bluetooth, my wifi connection just drops completely. I have to turn it off then back on again to reconnect.

Also, not getting any simultaneous voice and data on 3G. I get a "network not available" popup. Is there a setting for this?

Anyone seeing these issues? Thanks in advance!

Dude, 3G is only for data. If you are tying to do voice and data at the same time you must be on 4G or WiFi. If you turn off 3G, you can still make/receive calls and send/receive text messages.

Incorrect - this has a new chipset that allows the 3G data to work at the same time as voice over 1x. This isn't to debate if it can work, dozens of threads with people saying it does. This is to figure out why mine doesn't.

Here's one thread I started with several confirmations of simultaneous voice and data while not in LTE coverage area and not on wifi.

Okay, so why is there a 4G network if you can do Voice/Data over 3G? 4G/Wifi is so you can do Voice/Data at the same time. 3G is strictly for DATA and no chipset will allow you to do that if the CDMA 3G network is not set up for Voice/Data at the same time. Maybe its not working because you don't know what you are talking about. You can do Voice/Data on 4G & Wifi ONLY.

I don't even know what to say to you. You are debating against a fact. Just stop it, it's not debatable. There are few things more annoying than someone who doesn't have a clue what they are talking about trying to argue with someone that does. Do everyone on this board a favor and stop spreading misinformation and get educated.

I really don't want to start anything here, so just go ahead an unsubscribe from this thread and let others chime in. From everything I've read (except your post), simultaneous voice and data IS possible on 3G with Verizon and this specific phone.

Um, cause 4G is blazing fast. That's why we have LTE. LTE was not built so vzw users could have simultaneous voice and data. That's just a great side benefit.

Well, it's not working for you and a lot of other people. I wonder why. Guess I'm too educated on the matter. But the people who have tried to do voice/data over 4G/Wifi have had utter success. Dang...

You don't have a 4G signal where you live. I actually have 4G and its not blazing fast. Its a little faster than 3G.

No one is debating simultaneous voice and data over LTE or LTE/wifi, or 3G/wifi. The point is that it DOES work for some, as a simple google search will show you. It was mentioned months ago when specs first leaked that 3G/1x simultaneous connectivity will be available on this device, but it's not a feature that Verizon is actively promoting, due to the fact they don't have it nailed down to where it should work for everyone.

Anyhow, enough of this. Just unsubscribe already and let us who believe it's possible continue figuring out why it only works for some.

And my original question which is actually much more important for me - why is my wifi dropping out when on a bluetooth call?

Well, then you have a crappy 4G signal, because people all over are showing in excess of 10mps down and 2-5 up, so again, just unsubscribe from my thread please. You're spreading misinformation, and it's not subtle, it's blatantly wrong. See, you've dragged me into flaming. JUST UNSUBSCRIBE AND MOVE ON.

"People" meaning you don't have a 4G signal where you live. That's misinformation about the speeds for 4G.

Most people would use a different bluetooth headset if the wifi is dropping out while on a bluetooth call. Besides, most people use bluetooth in a car, typically people are not driving around talking and using WiFi at the same time. Phone probably isn't coded for such activity, which would make sense to me.

When I'm in a 4G area it's never less than 5x the speeds I get on 3G. Also tried using wifi and my bluetooth headset at the same time without issue on my Thunderbolt.

It's the wifi signal that is dropping. It completely disconnects from the router. It's not the bt headset. Tried multiple.

Home office scenario - I'll bet there's plenty of people out there working from home or from a hotspot with wifi on and on a bluetooth call. Are you under the assumption bluetooth only works if you're driving around in a car?

And on the 4G speeds, your comment on 4G speeds is so unbelievably incorrect that I'm not going to continue debating. For crying out loud, people have speedtest.net results right in their signature showing 10 up and 2-5 down. Just because I don't have 4G doesn't mean I can't research what hundreds of other threads are reporting on speeds.

GET A CLUE AND GET OUT OF MY THREAD.

Let me go test out your "battery bump" theory next....tisk tisk tisk My point was you need to try a better bluetooth headset. And I don't see people sitting at home on a bluetooth headset and doing work on wifi with an Android based device. Most people break out their laptop if they have actual work to do. Or maybe that's just me.

Again, tried several bt headsets. Not the headset. Wifi connection drops. Wifi and BT do not use same radio, BT performance unaffected when wifi cuts out.

Just because you can't imagine the scenario doesn't mean there aren't others out there on wifi and bt at the same time. Your knowledge of these things seems to be somewhat limited, so again, can you please just not post in any of my threads again?

GET A CLUE AND GET OUT OF MY THREAD.

Acting this way won't get you help.
It's going to get your thread locked.

Some things are not debatable, such as data+voice working on this device.
The only thing I can think of that would disrupt this from working is if the base stations in your area have not had their firmware update yet.
Remember this functionality has to be supported on both ends.

How about you take a step back, play nice and not attack people.
Were all friends here.

How am I the one attacking? I just don't want others to see slick's total misinformation stated as fact and others take it as fact.

Good thought on the local base station - I've only had the TB for a few days, so I'm anxious to try it out in other non-4G areas as well and see if the voice/data works.

Like the OP said, simultaneous talking/surfing over 3G with the new chipset is possible. Voice calls are over 1x. 3G is for data only. 4g (for the time being) is data only. So with the new chipset, talking over 1x and surfing over 3g (and obviously 4g) at the same time works.

To further support this, below is a quote from BGR's review of the Thunderbolt which came out earlier today:

"Uh oh. AT&T has really focused on the remarkable capability its phones possess that allows them to make voice calls and move data simultaneously. Verizon Wireless phones have historically not had this ability. I would argue that

That's the joy of a forum, everyone is entitled to their opinion whether it be correct or not as long as said opinion is put across in a respectful way. You've been accused of attacking because yourself and dguy haven't been overly polite in expressing your views to Slick1020.

I'm going to close this thread because it's gotten totally off track.

kjjb0204,
Can I suggest you start a new thread with the topic 'Wifi drops when on bluetooth call' and leave the simultaneous voice/data over CDMA to this thread as it is nigh on impossible to discuss 2 topics in one thread.
