Help WiFi "Error", Problems with streakdroid build

I tried steve's streakdroid build when it was in it's infancy and got an error when I'd try to enable the wifi in the menu - all it would do is say "error" below it. I switched to the stock o2 2.2 rom when it was released, and this fixed the error.
After getting fed up with the lagginess of the o2 build, I followed the instructions and swithed to steve's 1.6.1, hoping it would be solved. Sadly, the problem remains and I'm not sure what's wrong. Everything else seems fine, it's just the wifi that's screwed up.
Any ideas?

I just got a new dell streak 5 but got stuck with wifi "error" not sure how to fix it . Tried reseting to factory defaults but no luck. Did you get some solution?

the problem was caused by the baseband version not matching the stock build, but sadly I never found a solution as my baseband flash would never work, even in fastboot mode. If youre experiencing the issue running stock software I would suggest RMAing your streak, if not then all you can do is flasb back to your carrier's official firnware.
