Help WIFI Error

WIFI will not turn on, says error. Tried using WEFI, which i found in another post somewhere as a solution. Tried resetting, both in the phone menus, and in the recovery mode. Formatted sd card a few times. Even reinstalled froyo update off htc's website. i don't use it as a phone (signal is extremely poor, and it has no warranty) i just use it for internet when I have to stay at hotels for work, and to watch movies on netflix. So without wifi, it's kinda useless. Any suggestions? WOuldn't mind a different os on it as i only use it a a wireless device.

Seems to be going on a lot this WiFi issue, i'm getting the same thing on mine.
Had it master resetted and all the usual tricks, got it working eventually on my home WiFi then it goes off and takes a big faff to get it back again/
just get the Error, unable to scan for networks message
mine is still under warranty so will take it bck but fear they weill try and fob me off with water damage story when it clearly hasnt been naer water
