Help wifi file transfer pro - upload failed

Hello!

I'm having a slight issue with WiFi File Transfer Pro. I've used it before and never had any issues, however, this was before I received Kit Kat on my Galaxy S3 (not sure if that has anything to do with this). I'm able to connect to my phone via Chrome and I can even access and download files from my phone to my PC via WiFi.

What I can NOT do is upload anything. I receive an error saying "Upload Failed, Try Again?"

I have plenty of space available and I've even tried different locations on where I'm uploading to and nothing has helped. I've also restarted my router, restarted my PC, attempted to upload a pic instead of an mp3 file, and did a few Google searches.

Anyone else have this issue?

Update: I realized it's my extSD card that is having the issue. I was able to upload stuff on the internal storage. This must have broken once I got KitKat on my S3. I'm searching up now to see if anyone else has issues after KitKat.

Final Update (not that anyone cares lol): I found out it has to do with KitKat. Apparently, KitKat isn't allowing the Writing of files via WiFi... I guess for better security.

I noticed this too, after updating. I think it is OK to increase security, but not to an extend where apps stop working. I surely hope the developers and/or Google delivers a solution, otherwise this app will stop selling soon.

Special thanks here for posting. I just now upgraded to Android 4.4.2 from v 4.3 and suddenly I cannot upload files to my external sd card folder as before. I have also noticed that ES File Explorer is not allowing file name changes on files on sd-card. ES File Explorer has a much longer message about not having permissions to change anything unless you have root privileges. All this confirms what you have said before, but the discussion here pointed me in the right direction. Thanks everyone.

With KitKat you can upload files to your extSD, but only to one of the folders in the Android/Data directory. Kind of a pain in the ass but whatever. From there you can use the default 'My Files' app to move it wherever you want, as the restrictions on file system locations are limited to third-party apps.
As for 'ES File Explorer', you can regain the ability to use all its useful functionality but only if you root your S3. Otherwise, 'My Files' is an OK alternative if all you need to do is move a few files around.
