I have seen many discussions all over the internet about people that can detect their home network, but not connect to it. This is not about that.
I cannot see my home network. I just got this new phone a couple of months ago and have not ever been able to see my wireless network to try to connect to it. I have a Belkin N router that I have used successfully for two years or so, and I cannot detect it with my phone.
Other people can see my wireless network and connect to it with their phones. I can see and connect to other wireless networks with my phone.
-I have tried manually entering the SSID, but it always says Out of Range.
-I have tried setting up a static IP, but it still would not do anything.
-I have tried setting a static IP with DMZ, no change.
-I have tried all combinations of security (WEP, Open unsecured, Open with mac-address filtering, etc.) but nothing made any difference.
-I have tried setting my router as a WAP, no change.
-I have downloaded other wifi managers from the app store, no change.
-I have tried every channel and wireless mode (N, G, etc.), no change.
I don't think there is anything wrong with my router, as it clearly works with the other phones and devices in the house. I don't think there is anything wrong with my phone as it otherwise works perfectly and is able to see and connect to other networks. I've never even seen this problem anywhere else on the internet. What am I missing here?
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S, with T-Mobile, Firmware 2.2.1 with build number FROYO.VUVKB5.
