Wifi hotspot for ICS ?

I cant get my SVTP Wifi hotspot app to play well with ICS. This ran super on Gingerbread. Now it keeps sending me into a re boot.

Anybody have a wireless wifi tether app they like for ICS ?

Apparently ICS contains code to not allow anymore free wifi tether apps, or make it very quirky. Thats a big surprise that we didnt hear about.

But out of negatives, comes some positive. I just went on a VZW new family price plan and got VZW Mobile hotspot included with 12GB for (2) iphones, a mobile card, and my Maxx, and its $90 cheaper than what I am currently paying.

What problems do you experience Sharon? I've never had any issues on Gingerbread or ICS.

Good question, sometimes my Windows 7 laptop doesn't even see the hotspot.
Other times it zip zap quick. Maybe it's my laptop.

My android tablet NEVER has a problem seeing the hotspot.

I take my android and maxx with me when I travel and that's when I use it most.

My dsl modem was dying a slow death at home so I would try my laptop from time to time. (replaced said modem and no longer try it with my laptop)

I love FoxFi but ICS broke it and Ookla SpeedTest among other broken functionality; anyone figure out how to mark an email as unread in the new improved Gmail app for ICS?

I want to go back to Gingerbread in my Bionic but don't know how to do it. Anyone know how to ho back and stay there? My Bionic worked perfectly last week on gingerbread.

You'll be much better off asking the Bionic section. You'll also be much better off asking the question's in threads where they are actually on topic (see if you can find a thread in the Bionic section on using the ICS Gmail app and reverting to Gingerbread).

I've been using and currently, like right now tethering my iPad off my RAZR using FOXFI with no problem.. Running 4g is way faster then the hotel wifi. I've only come across a problem every once in awhile with no data transfer.. But it's very rare and a reboot fixes the problems.. And in the months and months since ICS came out I've never had a problem with Verizon knowing I'm tethering

What version of foxfi are you using, please?

I just got my ICS update and foxfi now will not start the hotspot. Tells me to try the bluetooth instead, but that also seems to fail.

Thanks,

Michael

He is using a Razr, you are using a Bionic. They are different phones, so you might have different results. Go ask the Bionic forum, there is a better chance somebody might be able to help you there.
