WiFi HotSpot

I just called ATT and asked about the Wifi HotSpot option and they told me that this feature doesnt work as of right now.. The dont know when Samsung will put out the FIX for this.. I also asked how much and it would kill my Unlimited plan if I wanted to use this feature.. They said I would have to go to a 6 gig or 4 gig plan I think they said.. WOW that sucks... Juat wanted to let you know what I found out..

I wonder why the rep said the feature doesn't work. True, my Infuse is rooted, and hotspot works well that way.

Not sure I understand. Could you explain? Why do you need an AT&T hotspot? Is that because it is the only wifi available? And I thought any data downloaded via wifi does not count toward your data usage.

A hotspot uses your phone connection, not wifi, to allow other users to tether to your phone.

Thanks again. I see now why you would be concerned with data usage. It's only wifi from the phone to the device.
