Help Wifi is connected but no internet access

I have a samsung galaxy note and a dell streak but I have no access to the internet even though the wifi is connected, this only happens when I'm at work where the wifi is not password protected. This did not start happening till last week, I am on simple mobile and that seems to be the only constant this equation because the wifi works fine everywhere else where I use it so I would appreciate anybody's help with this.

It sounds like the Samsung Galaxy Note is unable to obtain the IP address. This sometimes happens when the Wi-Fi router is broadcasting wireless but the router itself does not have connection to the Internet. The only way to check whether it is your phone or the Wi-Fi router is to have access to another Wi-Fi device and to determine whether it has an Internet connection.
