Help WiFi is slow....

I have a wireless network here at home.

I'm using a wireless Print Server with my Desktop to catch the WiFi signal and speedtest dot net gives me 15 Mbps on average.

With my LG Motion within 2 feet of the wireless Print Server, I run the speedtest app and I get about 1Mbps with 2 of 4 bars on the WiFi icon present.

Is there a setting in the any of the Hidden Menus to change the proxy IP or anything else to speed up my connection?

If I move up close to my router and get 4/4 bars on the WiFi icon, I get better speeds, but I should be able to get a better signal/speeds being in the next room or upstairs from the router, but I don't.

Around the middle of last month, I was getting12-25 Mbps in the same environment, but it seems since then, my WiFi speeds have suffered dramatically.

Where is your router? Is it near a microwave, cordless phone, floressent light bulbs, or anything else?

None of the above.

I was getting good WiFi speed on my Motion until right after the middle of December.

I tried various servers on speedtest dot net and my Ping is fast - between 18ms-35ms, but my DL speed is slow and my upload speed is around 3.5Mbps

With 4G, I get 6-7Mbps DL and about 5Mbps UL

Checking the Results page of speedtest, I got 26.22Mbps DL on 12/22/12 and that's the last time I got a DL over 10 Mbps since and I test 2-3 times a day with different servers.

Nothing in my environment has changed. I've DL'd a few apps from the Store, but nothing that should adversely affect my DL speeds.

I have rebooted my phone, router, PC etc...and still no help.

The PC connected to the Wireless Print Server gets about 15 Mbps on a regular basis, but the Motion has slowed to a crawl.
 
My old iPhone 3G is getting about 4.5Mbps DL and UL speeds according to the speedtest app, but in the same environment, my LG Motion is getting less than 1Mbps DL and about 5Mbps UL speeds despite the LG having 4 times the CPU and Memory then the old iPhone 3G.

Any suggestions?

Make a nandroid and factory reset your phone then do the unbrick guide, see if it helps... Only thing I can think of at the moment....
 
We just had a power outage where I live for about 20 minutes.

After the power came back on and everything was restarted (PC, Router, etc...) I'm getting good connection speeds again as shown by the Speedtest app, so perhaps the Router and PC needed to be rebooted in a certain order, although I tried every combination I could think of.

Maybe the sudden power loss shutting everything down fixed my issue, although I will keep an eye on it.
 
if you have some free time get some better router and try it out, if it works then just keep it.
If it doesn't just return it
