Root WIFI issue after OTA

cala

Newbie
After the last OTA on my unrevoked Desire, my WIFI started to give me issues. It can only discover WIFI channels when I'm 2-3 metres away from the router, which is pathetic. And if i move away, the WIFI drops.

I reset the phone back to factory default, and the WIFI works again as expected and not just when close to a wifi router.

Thing is, i have a lot of things installed in my last rom (2.2 which i have nandroid backup using clockwordmod).

Is there a way i continue to restore my last rom (which gave me wifi issue) and fix the wifi problem without starting from scratch again?

You're rooted but accepted an OTA update from your operator - is that right?

This is something you should never do. Once rooted you need to stick with custom roms, even if they are just rooted stock ones.

To get back just restore your nandroid through recovery. If the OTA has unrooted you then you may have to go through the whole rooting process again.

Yeah the ota may well have restored recovery to stock.

If its s-off, that may still exist
