Wifi manager apps

Hi all,

Newbie here. I am an owner of SGS2 equipped with Gingerbread 2.3.3.

As you all know, there isnt a built in function that allows me to modify ip settings per network in wifi.

So, i am thinking of downloading a wifi-manager application, which gives me the ability of setting different ip settings per network, e.g. dynamic ip for my home, static ip for my work.

If i do so, and then choose to connect to my home wifi through the built in application (on the scrolled menu from the top), will it still show Dynamic ip settings as before, or will it be changed by the other app?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about an app to do exactly what you ask but could you not allocate ip address based on mac address? That's what I do at home (for a sync app I use) - in your case I guess you'd need work to set this up?

You could probably use Tasker to accomplish exactly what you want though.

Thank you very much for your help. I know how to solve it through the mac address adjustment, but i was just wondering about apps that resolve this issue. I know that since ICS and then, this problem has been fixed in-built where user can modify ip settings per network... I just cant figure out why android developers didnt resolve in gingerbread too...

Thanks in advance.
