HI there

I have the galaxy note 2.

I simply want to be able to browse my home WIFI network to which i am connected in the same way i can browse it from my computer under 'network' in windows explorer.

I downloaded an ap called File manager which has a network tab and when i search it finds my PC on the network (mycomputername.lan) but when I try and connect it says ' connection error' and allows me to edit settinbgs which include spaces for domain, user name and password (but i dont know what these should be or where to find them)

Please help. Im not wedded to this ap particularly just want to be able to easily browse devices on my wifi network.

p.s i see in Astro file manager in network you can add sftp and smb conenctions but i know nothing about these.

You might want to look into what files your PC is allowing to be shared. Sometimes a password is by default set on your computer preventing anyone on your network from looking at your files.
