Root Wifi not working

I'm running monster 5.2 and have raely if ever had a chance to use wifi.
today while at the hospitol I noticed that they had wifi available so I connected and then tried to use the weather app and then speedtest.net The problem is that I kept getting the message that data services unable to connect. The only other time I've used wifi was in a casino and it worked fine there. But no matter what I did I could not get wifi to operate. Even my data wouldn't work if I had wifi enabled. Anyone got a clue as to whats going on?

could have something to do with the rom maybe reflash it and try it out again somewhere with free wifi or make a back up of that rom then flash another and try as well

When wifi worked that last time was monster 5.2 installed?

Most Hospitals make you login via a web browser. Just try to go to androidforums.com on your phone and it will redirect you to the logon form where you must accept the terms and conditions. The wifi is still free, they just want you to agree to the terms, just like Starbucks Just accept and surf the web

Oh, also when connected to wifi your 3G/1x turns off automatically to save battery, but you can still make calls.

I won't be back in the hospitol for awhile but I'll remember about having to log into their system and get up and running on wifi.

Thanks for the help, I only get to use wifi once in a blue moon so I'm not well versed in all the little things you must do to get enabled.
