Root wifi not working

Hey guyz my desire wifi not working properly .I mean it start but not catch wifi. Network.
Is there any way to check my phone's hardware working. Properly or not ??

In more info I m using HTC desire. Rooted.
custom rom. Mildwild v4.3 oxygen base.

I have tried many wifi apps but it is of no use ..

What are the symptoms? You can see the wifi network but not connect? Or connect but no data? Or can't see it? I think from what you say it's the first, just want to be sure.

Only time I have had a problem was with CM7 when I hadn't cleaned up for a long time. Then clearing my wifi settings and re-entering helped, but I'd recommend backing them up (e.g. using Titanium) before doing that, especially if you have a lot of access points.

Moving to all things root then seeing as this is a problem with a rooted device on a custom ROM.

I can't see any network near I mean in range ...

Nandroid, flash a different rom, does wifi work?
