I am unable to connect my X10 to wifi connection unless I restart the wifi router. It scans & gives the error message while connecting - "The network password you have typed is incorrect. Please try again". It connects fine when I restart the router (without having to re-enter the password). Any suggestions on how I can resolve this?

I really dont want to restart the router daily :p ...is it a bug in 2.1 version?? When I had 1.6 version, I didnt have any problems connecting to the same router.

Change the encryption type.

Here is another really helpful hint to all people who connect to wireless networks.

Basically, there is a lot of crosstalk from other devices on the same frequency as your router.

Connect to your network and download and install WiFi Analyzer.

Open the app and when it open up, and hit the menu button/left button and chose to change the View and change it to the View Channel Ratings.

At the top, select your network. If it is not showing full stars, then there are other networks or portable phones or other devices interfering.

Now, in this list of Channel Ratings, are there any channels that are full stars and not in use? If so, make note.

So, if you have channels 10, 11, 12, and 13 are full stars, and your currently using channel 7 and it;s only 4 stars, then you have a problem.

----

Next step is to mess with the router.

You have to login to the router and change what channel it uses (it might be on default, which is usually 5-6-7)

Another thing you can change is the encryption type on the router for the password you have setup.

Try and change it from WPA2 to WPA or vice versa.

But other than that, you could take a look at the log on the router....but if you have a cheap old wireless router...they can do that....or you live in a neighbourhood that has a lot of wireless cross talk.
