Root Wifi proxy

helloo everyone,
I just got a htc desire with stock 2.2 froyo and bootloader 0.93

is there any way of setting a wifi proxy on desire ? is it possible after rooting the phone to set up proxy ? if so plz tell me the best possible guide for hboot version 0.93 also note that it also says PVT-4 which i heard is a new protection measure to halt rooting. All help will be much obliged..

App in the above post's link does not work in my phone. I found proxy setting in MIUI ROM. It is working. Could anybody please let me know if there are any ASOP ROM having proxy setting by default.

I tested some app to set proxy for WiFi but none of them worked at all.

Today I found it on Desire S (Gingerbread). I did not find WiFi proxy setting in my Gingerbread 2.8. Should it not be available for ASOP ROMS?

I use Autoproxy. Connect to Wifi then fire up app (need to be rooted), add the proxy and connect. It will then always use that proxy everytime it encounters that particular AP [APP] Auto proxy for android http(s), socks, ntlm [31 May 2011] - xda-developers
