Help Wifi suddenly very slow

My LG Volt Wifi has suddenly become very slow.

Tests on several speedtest sites, bare this out. I'm seeing download speeds of 3-4Mbps whereas all other devices (laptops, tablets) in the house all show a rock solid 65Mbps down.

Really scratching my head over this.
Anyone else seeing this same issue?

I also ran into this a couple of weeks ago except that mine was even slower, <1Mbps. After searching around I found a tip to turn off bluetooth and that worked.

I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue but I'd love to know what triggered this.

Mike,
Thanks for the tip... You were right, that's it!

Now I don't consider it fixed, but it's a place to start debugging.

I've had my phone for a year and I know this hasn't always been this case

Thanks,
Rob

One thing I know that has changed is the recent software update to V6. I didn't notice the wifi issue right after that was loaded, but that's the only thing that I can think of.

Mike,
At least in my case, I found the cause!! One of my favorite apps, POYNT, is definetly the problem.

After deleting the app and rebooting, Wifi and bluetooth work fine.
If I reinstall POYNT, the problem returns. I did find a workaround for this. I use a feature found in many utility apps, to FREEZE the POYNT app. Then Wifi returns to normal.

Very disappointing that POYNT is the problem. It has several great features that I use all the time.
Movie showtimes and GAS prices.
The GAS prices feature is the best I've found. It shows you a map of your location and small markers with prices on them.
You can even move the map center to another location and it will replot the price markers. Hands down the fastest I've found for finding best gas prices. One note: After you select either (Best prices or Nearest Stations) it gives you a text based listing of stations. In the upper right corner is a small map icon. Click here to see the map.

Just curious if you're using the POYNT app?
