Help WiFi Symbol

For some reason I've just started getting a WiFi symbol coming out of a phone next to my normal WiFi symbol.

1. What the hell is it?

2. How do I get rid of it?

Possibly VoWi-Fi, Wi-Fi calling. It could be a carrier or phone specific feature. Without knowing more about your phone model and specific firmware details as per #1.2 and #1.8 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide it is hard to say.

Wifi hotspot?

settings > more networks > hotspot/tethering

its wifi calling. voice and sms calls routing via wifi rather than the cell network. you prolly have a s5/s6 or iphone6, or latest nokia/ms. guessing you're on ee as well like me
