Wifi Tether, and Carriers Policy

The reason I asked is I Just rooted last night, I tried wifi tether, It wasn't working, but then my phone locked up , and the 3g icon indicated network traffic so much that my phone locked up,, I restarted and put into airplane mode, and it worked fine, but as soon as I turned the radios back on the 3g icon lit up, and locked my phone again. I ended up Factory reseting,,, then it worked,, I realize something else may have been going on, but I didn't know if they had the ability to check your phone, and/or lock it up,, I have the galaxy SII with GC01

That was a software mess-up on your phone. If you did something that would upset the carrier, they would just suspend your account.

I Tethered 10 gigs one month boost go so mad they toilet papered my yard. Those bastages.

I'm sure it has everything to do with the new kernel I flashed,, I flashed the AGAT 0.5.0 gc01 with recovery so I could root,, I know it sounded kind of stupid, but at first my phone would only lock up when connected to 3g/4g,, and its still doing it, anyone have any pointers here

this started happening right after I installed wifi tether,, but I had flashed the kernel the night before and been on wifi the whole time,, as soon as I turned wifi off right after I installed wifi tether,, It connected to 4g, and locked up the phone,, then restarted then as soon as 4g got connected it locked up again,, so I kind of made a stupid relation to the wifi tether installation and being connected to the 4g network,, because I had to turn off 3g/4g as soon as it booted to prevent the phone from locking up I was reading all these articles on the carriers cracking down on wifi tether apps,, I was wondering if boost would have a way of reading the apps on your phone and causing an issue when connected to their network,,,,

I've been reading that the kernels are screwing up 4g speeds,, what are the best kernels for sph-d710bst running gc01,, so you can keep 4g and overclock?

the one you are on is fine, if you want you could change over to the sprint version of the ROM or even reinstall your entire GC01 (one click installs available for both). The stock kernel nor the one your on supports overclock, but the phone doesn't really need it anyways. The borked 3g/4g speed was on the old Agat ICS kernel like 0.6.8

If you upset them by violating carrier policy they would just suspend your account and you wouldn't have 3g/4g or phone. They aren't going to crash your phone for it.
