Root Wifi Tether Won't Work

Hey guys, my brother just updated his Razr Maxx to ICS and we can't get wifi tether to work.

I did the SQL edit or whatever its called, changing the entitlement check to 0, but the stock tether doesn't work.

It will start, and the network will show up on the laptop. If we connect to the phone, the phone will show a connected device but it won't assign an IP address.

Help please and thanks.

If we can't get it working, can you fastboot back to GB or is he stuck on ICS now?

Try an app called Foxfi. Its a tether app.

We tried that one and it didn't seem to work. I tried again and it works, it just takes a LOOONG time to connect. Thanks.

Yw. Ive used foxfi for a long time on several devices with no problems. You just have to refresh, or scan for open wifi a couple times, but its a fix for not having tether.
