Help WiFi Tether

On my original Razr Maxx I would regularly use around 100gb a month with no fees. Rooted with Wifi Tether.

Wow I've looked everywhere trying to figure out how to do this and BAM, it works perfectly. WIFI TETHER WORKS ON RAZR HD ON JB, just have to select "generic ICS/JB (wlan0)."

Wifi Tether requires the phone to be rooted.

I have installed it and it seems to be functioning, but I haven't tested it yet. (rooted RHD on JB)

I have unlimited data from a legacy plan, so I am hoping it bypasses the subscription check also.

UPDATE: I tested it with my Macbook Pro tonite. IT WORKS! No subscription check! I did NOT have to do the SQL edit.
 
Will USB tethering work on non rooted Razr Maxx on VZW unlimited plan. Scared to death to install JB update, keep hitting remind me later. I need the USB tether when I travel. I am not a tech savy user. I just want to keep what works and ICS works with USB tether no problem at all. I was told as soon as I install JB update that goes away. Can anyone confirm please? Also anyway to avoid the update forever, I am tech challenged so rooting is out of the question, many thanks from and old guy.
 
I wasnt even aware you could USB tether a phone to what have you? I mean, God, if you could do that, hell with it, when I buy a tablet and wanna go online I'd just run a usb from my Thunderbolt to the tablet, but I think I've been told that can't be done.
 
Tried it on my RAZR HD with unlimited data, and did not work.It wouldn't show up on my Acer A500, our any other device.maybe USB tether or Blue tooth will work.
 
I'm thrilled to have it but believe it or not I've yet to have the opportunity to use it. Everywhere I go seems to have WiFi. If I ever do use it I will buy the paid version.I'm all set up so I know it works.
