WiFi Tethering Hack

If you have the My Android Tools app, go to the Android System and uncheck "Tethering$ Entitlement Check Service" and your wifi tethering will work for free I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, I just tried it on a hunch and it totally works

Is this a paid app or is their a free version?
There is both. The paid allows you to have the app engage automatically when you install a new app. The app doesn't run in the background when running like that. There are a few other things that can be done with paid version.
I've been using paid version for past couple of years, I love this app!!
You ought to see what can be turned off on Google Play Services...It'll blow your mind:eek:

^^^ what He said, yeah it's amazing. I have 72 out of 360 GP services' services disabled and have unexpectedly freed up about 120-150 mb of RAM in doing so, I've been going by lists I've patchworked together from other sites, would love to see what you've safely disabled HasH. Relative noob here, I rooted with Kingoroot about 3 months ago and have debloated quite extensively with no tragic side effects so far. Lol I accidentally deleted my stock launcher and didn't have another one, I guess you know what I saw when I tried to reboot :( I rode a pending Chrome update in my dropdown to the Play Store and got Nova Launcher and was back in business *luck of the Irish eh?* When you get time and if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to know what all you've disabled, I'm kinda skiddish about going much farther just guessing at what's vital and what can be turned off in Google Play Services. Oh, I get the occasional "unfortunately....has stopped" but it doesn't seem to really affect anything. Cheers! :)

I did a bunch on my own (a lot), but this oughta do you right for a great start.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/guide-reducing-google-play-services-t3139032
All functionality is there, but 2 "Google has stopped working" upon reboot. No biggie.
There are many more "things" to disable;)

I downloaded My Android Tools and unchecked "Tethering$ Entitlement Check Service," but it's still shutting off wireless tethering. What do?

I just got Titanium Backup, I read that it has its own internal busybox, and I have BusyBox Free currently installed. Can I safely get rid of my BusyBox Free? It gives a scary-looking warning when I go to uninstall so I thought I'd ask the pros before I eff things up lol. Rooted with KingoRoot, everything is working fine but I have App Master and wanted to get rid of that in favor of Titanium Backup, I still have App Master at the moment. Thanks in advance for any and all help :)

Pretty sure that the titanium busybox will only work in titanium and won't be available to anything else. What warning are you getting? You have custom recovery installed right? I would strongly recommend getting rid of KingRoot and flashing SuperSU.

Haha, welllll...no cusom recovery, I have no idea how to flash anything, complete noob lol. I almost got SuperSuMe to work but lost root on reboot every time, *android is upgrading* every time then root was gone and I had to go back to KingRoot.

Oh, and I didn't need to get Busy Box Free until I got Viper4Android, the few apps I had before that worked fine without it. So does KingRoot have its own busybox? Sorry if I'm asking elementary questions, I'm really noob as f as far as this stuff goes.

Get the TWRP from here, and get Flashify and use it to install. Then download SuperSU from
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
Uninstall KingRoot and install the SuperSU zip in TWRP.
No, KingRoot doesn't have its own busybox.

I have Flashify, it says I don't have root access but I granted it root permission and it's on the list of apps I've granted permission to in my King Root Superuser. My Android Tools also says I don't have root but same deal, it works fine and is on the list. I am on v5 in the system update cycle and have not allowed it to receive the latest pending update, that part is covered. I know TWRP or CWM should have been step 1 in the process but I don't know how to do that from here, if King Root isn't "root enough" to allow Flashify to work then I'm basically stuck (?) Installing a custom recovery may brick the phone so I need to have a backup saved, but that needs to be saved with a custom recovery, at least this is my understanding. *in over my head* lol

Uninstall flashify, reboot, then reinstall flashify then try again. Hopefully that will allow you to flash twrp. Then download this supersu: https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1

reboot to recovery and flash it. then boot back up and uninstall king root.

Thanks bg4m3r, I've rerooted and rebooted and Flashify still says I don't have root, although it looks functional and would probably work, or work just enough to eff everything up.

Kernel Adiutor ROCKS! I had SetCPU, replaced that with Kernel Tuner, now this one is better than either one plus has Flashify's functions and More, holy shiite :) and it's not getting the no root messages. Thanks bg4 (lol I almost by reflex typed BFG)
