Wifi & Tethering

I tried searching for this before I came here, but couldn't find an answer. What is the difference between wifi & tethering?

wifi you connect to a router/wifi manager which connects u to the network and internet. when you tether u turn your device into a router and you provide internet to other devices thay connect to you such as a laptop or tablet

tethering slaughters ur battery and ur phone would probably get real warm and service providers do all they can to stoo u and can cancel your service if they find out you are tethering. which is very unlikely

WiFi is when your phone get your connection to be able to go onto web pages,GPlay to download apps, stream music,ect. Think of it as data(4g) only through your router which is connected to your internets service provider.
Teetering is using your phones 4g connect to have your computer see your phone as a hotspot. Thus you could surf the web and everything else.mentioned above using the service from your.phones 4g on your computer .

Thanks guys. I was reading about it on an app on the market about an app that does the tethering thing. I'll stick with wifi...that's what I know Don't want anything that's gonna get the phone cops after me lol
