I'm at my wits end with this thing. I've done plenty of work with Android and dozens of devices with rooting, roms, custom builds, ect.... I know my way around an Android device.
I cannot make the wifi stay off on this G2 D800 (AT&T). I have no interest in rooting... I flip my phones when I upgrade and I like to have them clean.
This started with one of my apps getting hacked that could have only been a spoofed wifi hack. I THOUGHT I had wifi off other than at home. That is when I learned the AT&T model cannot completely turn off the "attwifi" connection.
So, at this point.... wifi is off, all possible "settings" options are off, ATT smart connect is disabled, ATT hotspot is disabled. Every single time the phone goes to sleep and wakes (even if just for 2 seconds) the wifi turns back on and will connect to "attwifi" or "xfinitywifi" on unsecured connections.
Anyone know anything about this issue? I see a lot of stuff about it, but no real solutions other than rooting and killing the "attwifi" which doesn't solve the overall issue of wifi continuously staying on. I'm not rooting when I can just go to another brand and not have this issue and I'm not getting my accounts hacked again.
