Help WiFi turns itself on in GC01

My WiFi turns itself on in GC01 when I boot up the phone and at odd other times. Anybody know what's going on with this?
 
It's the connection optimizer. My warp sequent had it too. You just go under system settings and somewhere under the data, you'll find it. Just clear the check box.
 
Yeah but is wastes more power than it should, and constantly turning on WiFi just to look for a signal is a waste when you are not in a area with WiFi. I manually control my network access (turn on WiFi and shut down 3g when at home) and get very good battery life.

I notice that no matter how many times I uncheck sprint optimzer under more settings -> mobile networks -> connections optimzer -> sprint connection optimzer : it rechecks its self.. However, the wifi tethering app still works ( altho really slow ) with this enabled even tho the tutorial says it has to be disabled.. I am on GB27 rooted. I have read tho that completely removing it from TB will break it... you think switching to GB01 will help? I remember tethering was much better on GB10 or w/e the release was before GB27
 
I have encountered no problems freezing it with TB. GC01 is the Same as GB27 just with boost bloat.
