Help wifi with mobile data on?

im with verizon. When connected to wifi the mobile data symbol is activated also "green" is this ok? thanks

well i don't have unlimited data, so if wifi is on and i don't turn off mobile data am i using up my data ?

I was always under the impression that when wifi is on, you're not going to be using any mobile data, so you don't have to turn it off. That's assuming that the wifi doesn't go to sleep. I have mine set to "never sleep".
