Wii sensor bar plug

I already did once, although I only unplugged one of the plugs. When my dad gets home I'll ask him if we can move it to the other TV. I bet he'll say no though. Worth a try.

Of course, he doesn't believe that the Xbox is causing it. And there's no room in the other room for it, except there kinda is in this small little room. My mom hates the look of electronics, so now my hope is kind of pretty much gone.

@dontpanicbobby, since you seem to think 'talking to yourself' is worrisome, I'm going to try using the @... Well I'm now using the wired sensor bar again, it might be helping, but it's got it's own problems... I bet it'll keep glitching after this because the Wii seems to want to torture me so much... All I want to do is make videos of a game and play it! ☹️

I don't have a Wii U, and no. I don't even know what you're talking about...?

Ok, well before you said that I was thinking maybe you thought recording it was not in the Wii. I meant recording it with my camera 😉

The wired sensor bar doesn't seem to help that much, because I have to change it's sensitivity so often... I wish Nintendo could've thought this out a little better...

Well it seems like the wireless sensor bar might be helping, but I don't wanna jinx it...

I don't know what's going on, it still happens, even in the morning now. Maybe I'll just have to stop playing the Wii... I really don't want to, because it has a game that I've had for almost 8 years that I've grown up with that I love... If only it worked like it used to...

Is it you TV? Because if you can watch things on it normally, then maybe you didn't plug in the Wii right, or maybe the Wii is broken. Unless the TV just doesn't work...

@dontpanicbobby, maybe I'll just need to get a new sensor bar. This is literally torture, and really shouldn't be happening. I mean come on, I wish Nintendo would've worked this out better... If a replacement doesn't work, I'll probably be pretty much done. Just it's so stupid.

This might sound an odd question, but have you tried looking at the sensor bar through your phone? Most phone cameras don't filter out infrared light, and so you can use that method to see if things like TV remotes are dead. The Wii "sensor" bar is really just a fancy case that houses a load of infrared LEDs (see the image below, taken with an infrared sensitive camera). It should look like that on your phone, if it's powered.

The actual light sensors are behind the black panels on the top of each wiimote.

On the same note, if there were other sources of infrared light in the room, that could conceivably cause problems. It is the case that the Xbox has an infrared LED ("blaster") of its own:

You didn't mention a kinect, but if you have one attached to your Xbox then it's also worth noting they work by flooding the room with infrared Iight and measuring it as it reflects back, off of other objects.

You mentored that powering off the Xbox didn't help, and realistically it shouldn't be shooting out light unless you're using it at the time. But it's not a crazy idea by any means. In fact, it could even be that there's a mirror in your room that's causing problems. I once heard a reviewer of a VR headset that couldn't get their system to work, until finally realising it was the fault of their full-wall mirror.

Yes, I already knew that it uses infared and heat. And yes I've tried looking through a camera to see it. Either I'll just get a new sensor bar, or just deal with it. I'll give more updates soon maybe.

And when I look at the sensor bar sensitivity, it doesn't show any interference...
