Help Wildfire media problems

Lurker
Hi all,
I've never posted anything on one of these forums, before, so apologies if I'm asking a stupid question.

I have a HTC wildfire on the 3 Nnetwork, and this morning I was granted a software upgrade (I think I'm running 2.2, but I'm not sure). Anyway, since then the standard media player has refused to read the ID3 tags on any of my (severl hundred!) WMA files; MP3's are unaffected. I have an ID3 tagging app, and I've installed Winamp and Meridian today, but all my WMAs still are listed as "unknown artist". I tried editing the tgs via Meridian, but a message pops up saying it is unable to read the ID3 tags. Any ideas?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Welcome to the forums, ANTRMC.

We're starting to find out that some Android devices which have had an update sent to them need to have syncing and updating apps and widgets, such as media and email, etc, cleared of cache, data and defaults (if available) via the application manager.

Once that is done and a reboot is performed, things usually fall into place with use.

Go into the menu > settings > applications > manage applications > menu > sort by "all." Then, one by one, select each target app and start clearing things. ;)

Then reboot. You'll find yourself having to reconfigure everything you've worked on.. that's the downside, but it should remedy the issues. Let us know.
