Help Wildfrire s screen problem?

Hello everyone I am new to this forum and in need of help.

I changed the screen on my htc wildfire last night all went to plan and I was delighted when it started up and all the buttons etc worked. But when I answer a call on it the screen now goes black and is unresponsive to touch as are the 4 buttons at the bottom.

Please any help would be great

Is it rooted? If so, which rom are you running? Were you accidentally covering the proximity sensor maybe?

Im sorry to sound stupid but what does the proximity sensor look like? And im not sure what you mean by rooter and rom?

If you don't know what being rooted is, then don't worry about it. The proximity sensor is right next to the earpiece and it is what shuts the screen off when you are on a call. If you're hand is too close to it, the screen won't turn on as long as you are on the line.

Thank you for your help i di indeed cover up the proximity sensor all good now.

hi everyone im new to this site.

ive jist changed the screen on my wildfire s. all was working fine then two wks later the bottom 4 buttons stop working but my screen was fine. now my screen has stop working the proximity sensor is not covered

You may have a loose connection or a short somewhere. I would recommend taking it to a cell phone repair shop and have them look at it.
