Root will a rooted RAZR get ICS?

Assuming all you have done is rooted, you'll get the notification. You may or may not be able to install it depending on what you've done since rooting though.

Had the same question. I had a rooted RAZR with a different ROM and went back to a non-rooted stock ROM in anticipation for ICS. It's actually hell as all my Verizon Bloatware came back. :( ICS can't get here soon enough.

I would like to know more about this. I am new to rooting/roms. I currently flashed the eclipse rom and I love it. But when ICS comes out I will want to go back to upgrade. Now to the question... what does 1 have to do to get this ota upgrade? Disable safe strap to stock rom and unroot?

You have to revert to stock first of all the root really Doesent make it not able to update but keep to note you will lose root if you don't save it. When you back to stock just update like normal

What do you mean by "you will loose root if you don't save it?" How do you save a root? Once RAZR goes ICS will it be root-able right away?

There is an app on the market (errrr play store) that's called OTA Rootkeeper. You can use it to "hide" root and restore it after the OTA comes out.

There is a current root method that works with the leaks of ICS.

... all this is assuming that not too much changes between now and then of course.

I have also been given info that if you use a ICS rom via safe strap you won't be able to flash back or go back to your stock rom. What truth is behind this?

Thanks for the quick solid answers.
