Will Atrix 2 Extended Battery Work On Atrix?

Curious if the Atrix 2 Extended battery will work on the Original Atrix? Has anyone tried this yet?

I have the Seidio extended battery but the battery meter is inaccurate. I was thinking if the Atrix 2 extended battery physically fit and the phone reads the battery level properly I could use the Seidio back door.

OEM's (Especially Motorola) are notorious for making sure that things like this are NOT cross compatible between devices. Even if it would technically work, they like to do things like alter the size, or placement of the connectors just enough that it won't fit.

With the Atrix 2 being new, I've not seen any aftermarket replacement batteries yet. That's usually how you tell compatibility. Aftermarket replacement part vendors (like Sedio) want to make as much off of something as they can. So, if they make a battery that can work in the Atrix and the Atrix 2, it will say so. When they do that, you then know that the OEM batteries are probably cross compatible.

Right now, the only options I know of would be:
1) to contact Motorola support (and PRAY they don't give you a run around).
2) find someone with an Atrix 2 and see if they well let you compare/test batteries.
3) watch the aftermarket vendors and see if someone sells a battery that lists being compatible with both phones

I tried and the answer is no. The Atrix 2 uses the same Motorola HW4X battery that the bionic uses. Our battery, the BH6X, is smaller in length and width but a lot thicker; so even though the Atrix 2's extended battery is thicker, it is too big in length and width to fit into the battery footprint

Got my hands on one (picture attached)
The HW4X battery measures (aprox) 75mm X 50mm X 4mm
The BH6X battery measures (aprox) 65mm X 42mm X 5.5mm

So even ignoring the thickness, the length X width is just way too different.
