Root will clear storage harm root?

My HTC Incredible is rooted and i was just wondering if i do clear storage from the bootloader screen, will this in anyway affect my root? Will Superuser get erased?

Just wondering why you want to clear storage...? Are you clearing SDcard or your phone's internal memory? are you doing this to install a custom ROM?

i am not on a custom rom, i actually just switched to the droid x and i am going to sell this phone on ebay. i just want to fully clear it and keep the root + recovery + superuser which is already there.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but I've never used the clear storage function. It might delete everything including Superuser and root. Maybe someone more knowledgeable about this function can help you out.

Sometime when I was messing with the 10minute root video, he stated, or I read, that the Clear Storage function would NOT remove root, so I think it would be fine.

He means factory reset. It will not remove root. To remove root you need to follow the instructions provided in the stickies of this sub-forum.

Go ahead and do a clear storage function.
