Help will Galaxy I5700 Lite/Spica get android 2.2

I keep visiting websites that need flash. The links take me to Adobe who then tell me that I need 2.2. Tell me something I don't know!

I just learnt from the latest itpro mailing that MWR InfoSecurity have found a serious security flaw in the webkit based browser in android 2.1 and earlier that leaves us open to identity theft on dodgy websites and dodgy wifi networks. This flaw has been fixed in the 2.2 update. So, as I see it, it's a duty of care thing for our service providers/phone providers to roll out the fix to us.

That's what I'm going to try tomorrow. Can't hurt.

I am guessing 2.2 upgrade is dead and buried?

Does not seem to be any new form discussions about this - i see with "Kies" there is a 3rd upgrade option for 2.1 to JD1 but does not seem to be much of a diff from what i can see from JC1 so am not going to bother with it.
So is this it, we have to be contempt with 2.1 unless we flash to a 2.2 rom outselves where there seems to be issues with cam drivers and such.

You should bother with it. JD1 is where most of the speed improvements and stability improvements were introduced.

You'll not get the 3xtimes speed improvement you get with Samdroid Turbo, but then you need to root the phone to install Samdroid Turbo.

Don't worry about it, we just have to wait

Hahahahaha.

As a former Spica owner who is now intimately aware of how Samsung are incompetent liars I am certain that this will never never happen.

"will get Android 2.2 whenever it is officially released" - there's your clue there that this person has no idea :)

Good News? I think so!

Nah, I think it is the Galaxy Spica EG The Portal. I also got messages earlier in the month, but didn't think about posting them on here. They seem more hopeful! ;)
