Root Will Gingerbread Get Root

Just wondering if I should update to the new gingerbread or wait and see if it can be rooted. What I have read is it can not be rooted.

Guessing here but Gingerbread will be rooted pretty quick for manual update. If you update OTA you will be waiting long time for root.

Probably best bet, though if the DX2 performs like the D3 does with GB 2.3.4, the stock update will be very worthy (D3 rocks), IF a rooted version takes longer than expected to happen.

Wait. If you do the offical OTA update and then decide to root, and root is not available, couldn't you just SBF back to the current version, apply root and then use a rooted Gingerbread Rom?

I'm probably just missing a step somewhere and this is not possible, but I'm just curious.

you could do that but then you wouldn't be on the new build.

Ill definitely be waiting for a rooted GB release for the X2 before updating. I have my 2.2 rooted, debloated, supercharged and i have very few issues. Only real issue was the international roaming popup I got while travelling (in the US). Other than that, this is a faster version of the DX basically.
