Root Will rooting and installing rom and/or gravity box etc. Help me to get a network signal? Explained:

Ok, so I live in an area with good coverage and have two LG's both on Virgin. One was losing coverage so my Uncle says he called the company amd they "switched the towers" for him (whatever that means) and that it would take 14 hours for it to go into effect.

Problem is that it made it worse. Where before he at least had a signal that would come in and out, now he has a red "x" and no signal whatsoever.

So I call technical support after doing factory reset and trying a few things. Guy doesn't know shit. Do dialer code reset. A few other things. After a few hours, offers me a bar phone. No thanks.

So now I'm here. I should add that when I look in About Phone, there is no info -- it's all wiped. Phone number, MEID, MSL, carrier, IP, etc. Only thing listed is model #.

So what has happened and what do I need to do to get the phone to recognize the network and possibly re-input all the missing data/info.

Please help and be explicit. So that even if you can't help I know where to look and have a better understanding of the problem.
