Help will the battery last out a 24m contract

Who cares , it's a fantastic phone and worth the risk. I have to say that I am impressed with battery life so far, it is no where near as bad as people are saying and way better than my galaxy s2

i care that 15 months down the line i might only get half a day, making it useless.

I have 5 year old iPhone that still holds a charge just as long as it did the first day I bought it.

I've been using cell phones since the late 90's and I have never had to replace a battery on any of them.

thanks for your help guys, just was asking cos me desire battery is now really bad and had to buy a replacement and obviously cant replace the one x

There should still be a tiny amount of charge left in the battery when the phone powers off (I think that's the way things work :o), but aye, that's classed as a complete discharge.

I thought they encouraged full charges on mobile phones, otherwise you don't. Harvey the whole of the battery equally or is that old news lol :-)

This is my first posting. Learned alot from you guys after getting my Desire 2 year ago. Still waiting for my One X as the white colour is out of stock, by the way I am from far away Singapore.
Back to battery life, I think it will out last the typical 24 months contract. My Desire's battery is still coping well after 2 years. I will charge my phone when possible, in the office, car, home as I like to have the battery fully charged.

I've had a Desire for the last 2 years and the battery is still fine, and still the original one. I didn't buy a "spare" and have never had an occasion where I've been out and used all the power.

Hopefully I'll be getting a One X tomorrow but I'm not overly concerned about the battery - if it stops holding its charge I get in touch with my network and report the fault, and I get a replacement handset. That's why we have phone insurance.

My Desire battery only lasted 18 months so it is a concern for the One X. I think the battery life is shortened by over-heating, which does happen when using it as a satnav (high battery drain from mobile data, screen brightness on max and GPS enabled) combined with warming from sunshine through the car window). Does anyone know if the battery is covered by the 2 year warranty. Considering you can't change it yourself I would hope that the battery was covered within this period. In general HTC's warranty service is excellent - at 20 months my Desire's motherboard was changed free of charge and the turnaround great - collected by courier on Monday and returned on Thursday.

Yeah, I imagine with it being un removable, the battery will be covered under warranty. I can't find anything in the manual to say otherwise either.

yer you would think its coverered under the warranty. however the warranty is only 12 months right? so if after 18 its getting marginal you will most likely have to pay out. Or try the fun job of taking apart the phone yourself (not really recomended for most people).

From what I recall the warranty is 2 years. Both my Wildfire S and DHD come with a 2 year warranty I imagine the One X would be the same.

if thats the case then fair enough, just took iot as 12 months as that seems to be the norm nowadays on electronics. 2 year warranty would be awsome though.
